Sweden Firehouse Building Committee

Meeting Minutes

January 22, 2008

Present: Wolfgang Duve, Chairman, Patrick Wood, John Smith, Wayne Miller and guest Kevin Drew of L.A. Drew Construction

Meeting started at 9:00 A.M.

Chairman Duve opened the meeting by telling us he had spoken to Scott Valley about repositioning the front lot line ten feet forward of its present location. Mr. Valley is agreeable to this as long as we are mindful of his well.

Chairman Duve showed us revised building renderings with dimensions of 64’ X 80’, concerns are about truck spacing within the apparatus bay.

Kevin Drew, Vice President of L.A. Drew Construction from No. Conway , NH was introduced and gave a brief overview of Fire Stations his company was involved with in the New Hampshire area. They were in Bartlett/Jackson, Center Ossipee, Randolph and Errol. All these stations were in the 60X80 foot range costing between $55.00 a sq ft with unfinished interior to $65.00 - $70.00 per sq ft with the interior finished. This included site work, American Steel building, well, slab, heat, electric and interior partitions. Mr. Drew did advise us that we would need a consultant at this point to help with design drawings and building specs. Mr. Drew recommended Mr. Shawn Bergeron who is licensed to do this kind of work and is going to send us his contact information.

We also discussed our paving needs with him and he gave us a formula that his company uses to figure total tonnage to be used on a job. It is:

Total Sq Ft Divided by 9 Divided by 9 = Tonnage X 80 = Cost (this calculation is not complete)

Mr. Drew indicated that he was excited to be involved and helping us wherever he could.

The committee extended our thanks and appreciation for Mr. Drew taking time to come to Sweden to speak with us.

The meeting ended at 10:00 A.M.

Respectfully submitted

C. Wayne Miller

Acting Secretary
