Present:  Selectmen Willey and Jones, Road Commissioner John Clifford, D.J. Curtis, J. Gibbons, Clerk, Frances Flint, Robert Drew (Road contractor) and later Robert Slattery.

Meeting was opened by Jim Willey with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:08.  Minutes of the October 2 meeting were approved: 2-0. 

Roads:  Mr. Clifford reported that gravel has not been put on Perry Hill Road yet.  Gravelling has been done on Hardscrabble Road under the FEMA allotment.  More ditching work in the area " from Camp Encore to the bottom of the hill as part of the FEMA project - was approved. Shoulder work still needs to be done. 

Household Hazardous Waste and Universal Waste collection day is October 20th from 7 " 12 at the town office parking lot.  A list will be posted at the Town Office by Bill Jones.

Finances: Our 15% of the FEMA project money should stay in the summer roads account. Taxes deposited September 25 came to $126,000.  Another 202,000 has been deposited.  We have a balance of $363,000.

Historical Committee " no new information.  The Committee is waiting for bids on roof repair.

Budget Committee " Robert Slattery was asked to serve and agreed to do so if meetings were scheduled when he could attend.  The appointed members need to be sworn in before meeting.

Jane Gibbons reported on cleaning fees.  Only one agency in the area is known to carry liability insurance " First Impressions, run by Sandy Weygande (647-5096).  She would charge $96 for 2 people for 2 hours each or $75 for 2 people for 1 ¼ hours each.  If there was not enough work to keep people busy for 2 ½ to 4 hours we could have them clean the Town Meeting House as well.  The discussion with Ms. Weygande was on the basis of once-a-month cleaning

Fire Station Committee " Dana Nason was appointed to serve on the committee.  He has been investigating grants.  The Selectmen would like a report from this committee on progress made by October 23rd.
