Minutes Special Town Meeting:  November 22, 2008

Meeting was opened at 9:03 by Clerk, Jane Gibbons.The Pledge of Allegiance was given.

Article 1: James Willey nominated Sawin Millett to be moderator of the meeting. Voted by 3 secret ballots.

Article 2: Warren Noble nominated Alberta Ridlon to be Selectman, Assessor, and Overseer of the Poor, for a period of November 22, 2008 through Town Annual Meeting in 2011. Voted by secret ballot: 19 for, no opposition.

Article 3: To take $6,000 form surplus to cover the shortfall in the Rubbish Accounted. Voted by show of hands. No opposition.

Announcement: There is a vacancy on the Planning Board following the resignation of Grace Keef. Volunteers are needed.

Ms. Gibbons announced that the Community Emergency has raised over $4000 and received a gift of stock now worth $10,676.01. Sweden residents in need should apply for help with heating or other Emergency expenses. There is also a food bank that has opened up at 1134 Knights Hill Road, available for distribution of food on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Dell Foss mentioned their need for volunteers to help with down loading the truck and stocking shelves on Tuesdays and early on Wednesdays.
