Special Town Meeting

Town of Sweden, Maine

October 3, 2009

There were 27 Sweden residents present at the meeting which was opened by Clerk Jane Gibbons. Alberta Ridlon nominated Ed Ryan as moderator. He was voted in with three written ballots. Mr. Ryan was sworn in.

Mr. Ryan asked that DJ Curtis, a resident of Waterford, be allowed to answer questions. The assembly approved.

Mr. Ryan called for nominations to fill the post of Selectmen until March 2012. John P. Smith was nominated by Carroll Murphy, but declined.

Chris Chandler moved to amend the article to make the term end in March, 2010. The amendment was seconded and approved. John P. Smith was nominated and approved by the assembly. Three written votes were cast.

There were no nominations for Planning Board or Planning Board alternate.

The meeting was adjourned. John P. Smith was sworn in by Clerk Gibbons.
