Bomb Damage assessment photographs taken from B-17s from the 303rd Bomb Group, flying missions during WWII.
 

These pictures were generally taken by a camera on the B-17 bombers, and after being activated manually around the time of bombs away, would take a series of pictures of the target area below.

  These are scans of actual photographs made with a scanner capable of more than 1200 dpi resolution, although most of the pictures were scanned at lower resolution.  The resolution on the pictures is greater than that which can be reproduced with even the 1200 dpi resolution, showing the quality possible even back in 1945 from altitudes in excess of 25,00 feet.
