Initial flight training took place at several bases in Texas and Oklahoma collectively named the "Gulf Coast Air Corps Training Center", but apparently were centered at Lubbock Texas.

One of the schools associated was located at Tulsa Ok, where PT-19 trainers were used:


 

Subsequent training at Randolph Field in Texas used Vultee (Vibrator) BT-13  trainers, which are basic trainers with a 450
hp engine by Pratt & Whitney,   Cruise speed 140 to 160 .

There was also instrument training at Bryan Instrument Instructors School, in Bryan Texas, and training on a 2 engine Cessna
 AT-17 at an unknown location.

Upon graduation from the instrument flying course, he was awarded a comical certificate.
After graduation from the Gulf Coast school, duty as an instrument instructor took place at Gunter field in Alabama, and at Bainbridge field in Georgia.  One of the graduating classes at Bainbridge is shown below:
 


 
 
 

After leaving Bainbridge, transition to 4 engine aircraft such as B-17 took place at Hendricks field in Sebring, Florida.
